RADIO2 - SpaSe PCRadio 003 control for OS/2 and DOS

                 Version 2.23

1. Introduction

        This a small, yet functional application I've been developing since I
got my hands on a SpaSe PCRadio 003 card back in '98 (maybe sooner, I don't know).
Basically I did it for the same reason everybody does a program like this: the
program that came with the card sucked pretty badly.

        It was originally developed in DOS with Borland Pascal, and is now deve-
loped using Virtual Pascal/2 (DPMI32 and WIN32 coming soon thanks to VP/2 and a
ton of $IFDEFs :)).

        I always wondered if any other living being has a card like this. I kept
this program private for all these years because only me and two other friends
had a similar card :)

2. Features

         - VIO ANSI interface;

         - Volume/Treble/Bass/Balance controls;

         - signal strength meter;

         - deviation meter;

         - Extended Range (50-150Mhz) capability;

         - AutoMute, Mute toggles;

         - 10 programmable presets;

         - fine tuning (0.1Mhz and 0.05Mhz step);

         - Powerful command-line interface:

           - turn radio on/off;
           - set a frequency manually;
           - scan up/down;
           - set a frequency from presets;
           - show stored settings/presets;
           - set volume;

3. Installation

        Well, you just have to place it somewhere in your PATH. On the first
time it runs, it'll create two files on the directory it's running from:
SETTINGS.DAT and PRESETS.DAT, which contain the last saved settings (volume, etc) and
the stored presets, respectively.

        The data files have the same format for both DOS and OS/2 versions, so
you can use the same database for both.

        Please note that you'll find two files enclosed in this archive:

        RADIO2.EXE  - OS/2 version
        RADIO2D.EXE - DOS version

4. Usage

4.1 Interactive mode

        To start: type RADIO2.

        Type H to see the keyboard shortcuts, which should be pretty self-expla-
natory. Sorry, no mouse support :)

4.2 Command line mode

        To get help on the parameters: type RADIO2 /?

        Again, the description for the commands should be quite enough, don't
you think so? :)

5. Troubleshooting

        It shouldn't have any problems (from my vast experience of testing it on
TWO other cards :)), since it detects the card address. If you ever have a problem
with the behaviour of the program, try renaming/deleting the .DAT files. If you
can't solve a problem, or have some comments about the program, contact me.
