                       QuickCam Viewer for OS/2
                       ========================

Installation:
-------------

o First time: Unpack the zip-file, run the install program and reboot to make
  the changes effective.

o If you have a QuickCam VC or Pro your parallel-port MUST be set to ECP-mode.

o Upgrade: Unpack the zip-file over the previous version and reboot to make
the new device-driver effective. If you unpack to a new directory you must
update the PATH and LIBPATH in CONFIG.SYS manually by replacing the old
  with the new.

o Contents of the zip-files:

    QV2.ZIP:
        readme.txt This file
        history.txt History of bug fixes
        order.txt Ordering/registration information
        cuseeme2.txt CuSeeMe/2 notes and installation
        license.txt End User License Agreement
        install.exe Install program
        quickcam.sys Device driver
        qv2.exe QuickCam Viewer
        qv2.hlp QuickCam Viewer on-line help
		qv2snap.exe Command-line snapshot utility
        qv2hooks.dll Desktop Lockup support
        qv2utils.dll Utilities DLL
		quickcam.dll Support DLL
        qvcusolo.dll StandAlone CuSeeMe/2 PlugIn
        qvcugrey.dll ColourToGrey CuSeeMe/2 PlugIn
        qv2rexx.cmd Sample REXX command-file

o The install will add the device driver to CONFIG.SYS on the boot drive
and create an icon on the desktop for the QuickCam Viewer, QV2.

o This install can also be used to re-create an icon on the
desktop for QV2, existing CONFIG.SYS entries are left unchanged.

o A reboot is required if the device-driver was not previously
  installed.

o See CUSEEME2.TXT for notes on CuSeeMe/2 support.

Requirements:
-------------
o OS/2 Warp v3 or above
o Connectix QuickCam (tm) B&W, Colour, ColourII, QuickCam VC or QuickCam Pro
o 1MB available disk space

Parallel Port Notes:
--------------------

It is recommended that you set your parallel port to either AT-mode
or EPP-mode for uni-directional or bi-directional modes, respectively.
Bi-directional mode will give at least double the throughput compared
to uni-directional mode. The parallel port is usually set up using the
BIOS setup on your machine at boot time.

QuickCam VC and Pro: The parallel-port MUST be set to ECP-mode.
Currently, interrupt and DMA settings are not used.

Colour and your Desktop:
------------------------

Owing to the many problems in creating a 256-colour picture from a
16Million one, there is a restriction for 256-colour desktops. The
main problem is the time to analyse and process the picture. So for
now there is a restriction that 256-colour desktops will present a
picture using a greyscale, however it will be saved to disk as a
16Million-colour one.

Ordering and Registration:
